چکیده

This study evaluates the effects of cellulolytic fungi from rumen on nutrient intake and blood profile Nellore calves. A diet was formulated with 56.79% lignified hay Urochloa brizantha 43.21% concentrate. Sixteen calves were evaluated in completely randomized blocks using two calf groups: four males females. The first group supplemented a culture medium containing mixture Aspergillus terreus (VN 15 isolate) Trichoderma longibrachiatum 20 isolate). second received sterile only. Ether extract ingestion higher control calves; however, showed tendency to improve feed efficiency. No significant differences detected profiles or serum biochemistry between groups. Further research analyzing different dosages, adjusting protein levels, increasing proportion roughage could better elucidate interference these performance parameters weaned

Preweaning performance and body composition of calves from straightbred Nellore and Bos taurus x Nellore crosses.

The objectives were to evaluate preweaning performance, body composition, and efficiency of calves representing straightbred Nellore (NL), F(1), and 3-breed-cross systems. Energy requirements, milk production, and efficiency of 39 cow-calf pairs were recorded from straightbred NL calves from NL cows (10), crossbred (Angus-sired) calves from NL cows (ANL: 9), and crossbred calves (CC; Canchim-si...

mRNA profile of Nellore calves after primary infection with Haemonchus placei.

Haemonchus parasites are responsible for many losses in animal production. However, few studies are available, especially of zebu cattle. In this study, we investigated mRNA differences of immune response genes in naïve Nellore calves infected with Haemonchus placei, relating these differences to patterns of cellular infiltrate. Calves were infected with 15,000 H. placei L3 larvae and after 7 d...

Effect of Niacin Supplementation on Growth, Nutrient Utilization and Blood Biochemical Profile in Male Buffalo Calves

In order to investigate the effect of different levels of niacin supplementation on growth, nutrient utilization, their balance and blood biochemical profile, 15 male buffalo calves (9-10 months of age, 88.4±4.37 kg average body weight) were divided into 3 equal groups each of 5 calves, following a completely randomized design, and fed individually for 120 days with wheat straw and concentrate ...

Hemato-biochemical and Cortisol Profile of Holstein Growing-calves Supplemented with Vitamin C during Summer Season

Effect of vitamin C (VC) on biochemical, hematological and cortisol profile of growing Holstein calves during summer was investigated. Eighteen calves between 14 and 16 weeks of age were divided equally into two groups. One group received a diet supplemented with VC (20 g/d) for 60 days, while other non-supplemented diet fed group served as a control (CON). The temperature humidity index (THI) ...
